Hello, I'm Jacqueline, I've been teaching Voice and Performance in LA for 7 years. My students range from age 5 to 50. My lessons are designed to gain power, confidence, range and full control over your voice. The lessons are fun, inspiring and most importantly very effective. I first find out where you're at, what music you like, you choose what you want to sing, we go over techniques, starting with relaxation and breath than voice. At the end of the lesson we apply the techniques directly to your song so that you can feel the difference. It is important to not only be a great singer but to have stage presence, that is also part of the lesson. I encourage my students to start writing their own songs, stimulating their creativity. I have ears of experience as a performer touring, recording and producing music with many placements on film and TV as well as the business side of the business, branding, marketing and networking.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Songwriting

I have written, produced and released 3 full length albums and 2 EP's as Otto's Daughter. Many of my songs have gotten music placements on MTV, VH1, the CW Network (promo's on Vampire Diaries, 90210, Melrose Place, Gossip Girl. I'm very active in the mnusic community, attending Seminars like the Taxi Road Rally, SESAC Songwriter Bootcamp and ASCAP Expo among many others to learn more about my craft.

Voice (Music)

I've studied voice in Germany, NYC and Los Angeles for about 5 years total. Over the years my teachers became my mentors and I've combined the best techniques in my own teachings, from my own experience and challenges I faced in my early singing career. It is important to me to teach my students practical methods they can immediately apply. To encourage and inspire my students with patience and a healthy sense of humor. I do what I teach for a living, I perform, write, record and produce music for film and TV, I also do tours.

Have you ever watched a band and found yourself thinking..."man, they are so boring to watch" The singer is invisible, the players are just doing "their thing", not really engaging with the crowd. Although the audience might really dig the band, the band just becomes background music, people start talking, going to the bar, not really paying attention and BAM! ... you lost... read more

When we think of singing, we often think it's "complicated," "technical" and "hard." Many singers look up when singing high notes and get throaty sounding when reaching for low notes. Why is that? They think! If you must think, think the opposite! When you reach for high notes, think down, and when you reach for low notes think high! But remember how I stated "if... read more
