I am a graduate of Vassar College, cum laude, with a degree in history
and theater. I am also a graduate of the International Baccalaureate full diploma program. I have worked with children for over a decade, as a children's theater director, program director, acting teacher, private coach, and academic tutor.
I bring a passion for learning to every child I have the opportunity to work with. I believe that sparking interest and a pleasure in the act
of learning is the key to a successful academic career. I am very creative in the tools I use as a tutor but I balance that with an understanding of the rigorous academic setting students face and I keep my focus on a results driven plan.
As a graduate of the International Baccalaureate program I can not only tutor in specific subjects but also help prepare students for their IB or AP exams. I tutor AP US History
, AP World History
, AP English
Lit, SAT II
Subject tests in History and English, AP Art
History and I help prepare students for any IB exams as well. I bring not only my 4.0 academic record from Vassar College, but also my continued academic journey as a student. I have continued to take adult education courses since my graduation in subjects I am passionate about to keep my skills sharp and to continue to learn.
I would describe myself in the same way I describe my teaching. There is a certain satisfaction that comes from getting an A on a paper and having memorized the information. There is an even greater satisfaction from truly learning and acquiring knowledge.

When I have the opportunity to work with students year round, even if it is every...
So you finished your first AP class, and you think you did pretty well. You're taking three of them next year in preparation for college admissions, so you're definitely going to relax over the summer, right?
No! While the school year is still fresh in your brain you should consider the following:
1. How could I have been better organized?
2. Where did I struggle?
3. What are my...
Students are always asking me how they can get a 5 on their AP exams. I always remind them, Advanced Placement is supposed to be a college level course, if you want to excel on the exam, you must work year round AT the college level. What does that mean?
That means get started early, as early as the summer, learn how to take notes, learn how to dissect primary documents, learn how to review...
