I am a biotechnology student, who loves to teach. I am a very outgoing person and I enjoy helping others. For anyone who might think math is really difficult, I'm sure I can help!
Math is about learning the basics, once you grasp those concepts, you are on your way to an A. My approach to teaching, is simply providing what is lacking, what do I mean by that? Many times in mathematics, one is lacking the fundamentals to solving the problem, it isn't necessarily that the problem is difficult per say. Not understanding fundamental concepts prevent students from achieving their full potential. Therefore, I try to figure out what basic concept is not being understood, and then once I explain that concept, we can move forward to solving problems.
As a youth leader at my church, I have a lot of experience in dealing with teenagers and young adults, in being able to connect with them and establishing a safe environment for learning. I am a very visual audio learner and as such, I love to implement visual aids to help students clearly understand what they are learning.I have tutored children and adults alike, and have found that for mathematics a visual approach usually does the trick. I also like to connect what the student is learning to the real world,so that they grasp the concepts on a personal level and can refer back to the connections when they need to approach a different problem on their own. My ultimate goal in teaching is that the student feels confident on their own to solve any problem related to the material learned.
