Dear Parents and Students:
If you are looking for a passionate teacher, who will help master the scientific concepts and encourage critical thinking, and is sensitive to different learning styles, then you will find my style of tutoring very useful.
I have a very strong background in life sciences. I did my undergraduate in Biochemistry with honors at San Francisco State. Then I went on to graduate school to do research in pancreatic cancer at Dartmouth, and upon finishing my Ph.D., did breast cancer research in my post-doctoral work at University of California, Irvine.
Both as part of my graduate training and to pursue my love for teaching, I have taught and mentored students. As part of my experience, I taught two semesters of Introduction to Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology Laboratory class at Chapman University in Orange, California. I have also taught classes as a graduate student. I developed my passion for teaching through these experiences, and did so while conducting full-time research in the laboratory as well. Moreover, I have extensive experience in supervising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students at Dartmouth College and UC biomedical research laboratories. Therefore, I am passionate about teaching young minds the beauty of life sciences.
My style of teaching encourages thinking beyond the bounds of scientific facts. I strive to instill in my students the habit of creative thinking, which will be with them no matter what career they pursue in future. And I do so by making students responsible for their own learning by acting as a challenging yet supportive mentor.
