I am passionate about education, and believe it is one of humanity's highest pursuits. I am capable of tutoring in a number of areas including better writing, basic mathematics, and German language reading, writing and speaking. Most of all, however, I am interested in helping others to think clearly and logically–a skill one keeps for life, and can apply to any subject.
I served as Editor-in-Chief for Pepperdine University's online academic publication Global Tides, and have significant experience editing academic texts. If you want to improve any written document, or your own writing and editing skills, I can help.
I have a successful past in tutoring, at the elementary, high school and collegiate level, helping students pass courses that they were failing. With concentration and effort, failure is defeasible.
That's the sales pitch, but here's a little about me. I'm a recent college graduate who double majored in philosophy and German at Seaver College, Pepperdine University's undergraduate college. At Pepperdine I studied in Heidelberg, Germany and traveled about half of Europe, including France, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Greece, Hungary, the United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland. I also traveled to Israel, visiting Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Tel Aviv, and the Dead Sea; on the same trip I visited Palestine. Traveling has given me a lot of first-hand exposure to the world's art, architecture and culture, which I love to share with people I tutor.
On a less refined note, I'm a big fan of Improv and stand-up comedy. I've got a good sense of humor. Sometimes, I imagine that I could be a court philosopher to some monarch and spend my time imparting wisdom and skills to spoiled little aristocratic children. That's the dream job–want to hire me?
