I am a master's prepared registered nurse. I obtained my undergraduate degree from San Diego State University and the master's in business and nursing from the University of Phoenix where I am currently a faculty member. I love teaching. As a nurse, I teach patients, employees and students who are seeking to advance their careers.
I have raised three children; twins daughters and a son during the time I was pursuing my nursing education. Over their growing years, I tutored them in all their classes. Today, they have each earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, speech pathology and sociology, respectively. My approach to teaching is to identify how the student learns-whether auditory, visual or tactile and ensure that the subject matter is taught in their preferred learning method.
As a faculty member at the University of Phoenix, I am responsible for increasing student learning through developing relevant and progressive nursing curriculum. I also am proficient at designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college activities.
