I have a bachelor's degree in political science from UC Davis, with a minor in communication, and I have a master's degree in political science from UC Riverside. From my time as a teaching assistant, as well as a volunteer tutor, I have experience assisting both high school students and college students in government studies, as well as history and English.

I like to think of myself as a guide through a subject that I tutor. That way, the student gains the most from one of our sessions, since the student then is able to know more about a given subject, and have more confidence when dealing with that subject. Every student can master a given subject; it just requires someone who can help them over some of the hurdles along the way to help out.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I hold an associate's degree in speech communication from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, CA, as well as a minor in communication from UC Davis. I also have experience in assisting high school and college students in public presentations. In addition, I have experience in public speaking, both as an educator and as a published author.
