I am born in France where I lived for a long period before I moved to Germany. I am married to a German
who got a job in USA so we moved to this free and beautiful country. I think I was lucky to have the opportunity to live in all three countries and learned to be more tolerant and see the world in different ways. Respect and honesty are important. I have two children one girl and one boy and I will note I have two smart grand kids (11 and 7) who are bilingual in German and French
. I teach them English
when they visit me.
In Paris, I worked as Assistant for an Public Relation Agency then for a Research Center. I moved to Germany where I taught French for a private school as free lance teacher, I substituted at the Elementary French School in Germany and gave some private lessons home. I taught French for different levels and to different people (kids, teenagers, adults and about different subjects like culture, fashion, sports, travels and business
First, when I teach younger kids I like to know the parents expectations. For Teenagers, they need to share with their parents their engagement to improve the language
and to have goals. I believe everyone needs to have some goals in their life and mine in this case it is to give my best to my students to love and to learn easily my mother tongue. Learning a foreign language
must be a fun and interesting game not a boring one.
To teach I like to use newspapers, magazines and books (for ex: stories books). Of course, I can teach the traditional way using School books to help students to improve the language but I try to find all the time what students love to talk about. This way, It is more easy for them because they know their subject. For adults, my experience has been more oriented to conversation.
For adults, teaching is more traditional and of course depending on their expectations and their needs: business or leisure.
