I hold a California Multi Subject teaching credential from Augsburg College, a bachelors degree from St. Catherine University and am currently finishing a Masters in Educational Leadership. In my six years working as an educator, I've taught and tutored for roughly two years in Asia, worked in special education, and taught in two high performing schools and districts. I also have experience working in multi-age classrooms and following an Open model.

I enjoy teaching all subjects to elementary aged students including math, reading, writing, phonics, grammar, science, social studies, and kindergarten readiness. My background has allowed me to work extensively with English Language Learners and students with unique behavioral and academic needs.

Reading

I have an elementary license credential which means that I have extensive experience in teaching reading. I have been in every grade level up to 5th grade (through various experiences) and have taught phonics, reading comprehension, and fluency. I also have experience doing reading assessments.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a K-6 license in Elementary Education from Minnesota, and a California Multi Subject Credential which allows me to teach in a K-6 classroom.

Phonics

I hold a Multi Subject credential which includes teaching grades kindergarten through second. In these grades many students are still learning the basic fundamentals of reading and writing, which is phonics. I have taught phonics to English Language Learners and native English speakers countless times.

Special Needs

I worked as a special education aid for over three years in a special day class and in the mainstream. The students I worked with were low functioning. Many of the students were non-verbal, and all had low IQs. I look forward to working with you or your student.

If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
