I was a Magna Cum Laude student and loved everything I learned. I tutored in the Learning Center at Los Angeles Valley College for a couple of years, hopefully transmitting my passion for my subjects to my students. After graduating with my Master's degree in Biology, entering the corporate world, and raising my daughter after my divorce when she was 6 years old, I became an emergency substitute teacher for Moorpark Unified School District and Pleasant Valley School District for the various months in between my various corporate work experiences. My corporate experience focuses on Safety and Regulatory Compliance to make the workplace safe, it is a very exciting and yet politically volatile area of expertise.
I loved every subject I learned. I would drive on the freeway and look at the geological strata of rock and sediments, I would look at the stars through my telescope and be ecstatic about how we are created of star stuff. I took every subject at LAVC and had twice the amount of credits to transfer - I was looking for my passion. It was Astronomy first, but back then the shuttle program was barely started so I chose to study life - what is equally exciting as the stars? LIFE !!! And of course chemistry and mathematics came along as building blocks. That's what it is all about - building blocks!!!! I hope to impart my excitement and passion to my students, I know that will carry them far long after I am gone.
