Clarinet
A credentialed music teacher with over 14 years experience, I have taught clarinet privately and in the classroom to Middle and High School students. Levels: Beginner to Intermediate. Focus: Technique, Reading, Repertoire. I am the Director of Instrumental Music at Oak Park High School. For six years prior to that he owned and operated Allegro Music, a private music instruction studio in Westlake, California.
Composition (Music)
I have written, arranged and produced music for the stage, film and television. Several of my original compositions have been recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. Additionally, I have performed in a variety of venues and ensembles playing rock, jazz, classical and symphonic music. My guitar work is featured on the recent album, "Brainchild" by Singer/songwriter Reid Nofer I have taught composition at all levels and grades, privately and in the classroom.
Ear Training
Are you serious about your musicianship? Then you will definitely want enroll in a course of Ear Training. You will develop your musical ear through a series of progressive exercises using musical excerpts from a wide variety of styles and genres. A music theorist and music history buff, I have taught a wide variety of Music History modules and courses at the secondary level. Musical Periods for Study: • Medieval to Renaissance • Baroque to Classical • The Romantic • Impressionism and the National Schools • 20th Century Music & Beyond • The History of Jazz • The History of Rock & Roll For each period we will study both the musical elements in relation to the contemporary cultural events which define the period.
