In my experience as a credentialed elementary school teacher, all students want to learn and have the capacity to learn. But not all students learn in the same way, and an individualized approach is not always possible in a classroom setting. Individual and small group lessons provide students with a customized instructional method that fits each child's learning style. My tutoring approach is specific to each student, working at their current academic and learning level.
My relationship with students centers on building confidence and long-term success by providing conceptual and concrete knowledge in a given subject area. Students need to feel they are in a safe learning environment and able to make mistakes as they grow their understanding and confidence. My tutoring approach helps to identify a student's unique style and technique, which will foster a long-term love of learning.
