My undergraduate degree is a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. To understand chemistry fully, the language of mathematics makes it clear. To that end my electives were in mathematics. During senior year at Humboldt I tutored nursing students taking chemistry. My children were tutored from K through high school. So while no professional tutoring during that period, my children have been tutored for 14 years. My degree from Georgetown is in dentistry. I have practiced since 1984 and continue to do so. I do miss the facial expression when an elusive concept suddenly becomes clear.
As a high school student myself, I was a mediocre student. After being drafted into the Army in 1972 and being ordered by people who clearly weren’t even high school graduates, it became apparent that education is key. Following the Army, I became a serious student, and my grades reflected that. Motivation is a key to being a good student. My motivation made it possible to realize my dreams. Both of my now adult children have realized their dreams. I would hope to help you realize yours.
