I love to teach and have taught high school, undergrads and graduate students for more than 15 years.
I believe in having a friendly and enthusiastic interaction with my students. My aim is that they feel the same enthusiasm learning the subjects taught as I do teaching them. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to inspire students to pursue subjects with passion instead of considering it yet another chore to complete.
I understand that every student is different and so their needs may be different and so I work according to their individual needs.
When it comes to tutoring, my aim is that the students understand the basics completely so that they can build upon it by themselves, needing lesser and lesser guidance with time.
I believe that the students need to get correct information and try to answer all questions I may already know. When I am unsure of something, I try to research the topic and get back to the student with the correct information. If the scope of the subject is beyond my realm I try to guide the student to other teachers and resources I know of.

Aparna was very helpful and supportive to help guide me through the problem solving. It required a lot of patience to help me through some calculus problems until I was able to understand ho to problem solve them and leverage the math rules.
Aparna helped me tremendously with my CSUF undergraduate statistics course. She was very knowledgeable on the subject and explained everything in a way that made it easier for me to understand. I could get a hold of her via email or phone anytime and she worked with my schedule when I needed to make sessions.
My experience has been good with Ms. Aparna learning Java. As expected, we go over an exercise and go over the concepts used and clarifying them. Sometimes we take homework for me and Ms Aparna to prepare. Thank you.
Aparna is very easy to work with and always willing to answer any questions you may have. She is very patient and is great at making practically all of your questions make sense. Even when not feeling well she is always tries to do the most she can to help answer your questions.
Aparna was very accommodating and went out of her way to assist us. My friend passed her test with flying colors after a session with Aparna.
I have had a hard time finding a tutor within the orange county area and thankfully was able to find Aparna. She is very intelligent and is great at communicating very complicated material in such a simple fashion. Very understanding and open to tutor times, and is definetly worth the price. I don't know what i would do without her. Thanks Aparna!
Aparna is an extremely knowledgeable, overall outstanding tutor. She explains concepts clearly and thoroughly, and she genuinely wants her students to do well and succeed. She will make sure every minute of your lesson is valuable to your learning. She is also very personable and friendly.
Another quality that makes her a great tutor is the fact that she is flexible; she will always make time to help you. There was a time I had a huge deadline for an assignment approaching and I needed urgent help. Even though she was feeling sick, she made sure to help me until it was done. I highly recommend Aparna as a tutor!
She tutored me for a semester on the fundamentals of programming in JAVA.
She breaks things down in chunks that you are capable of handling and makes even the most complicated code seem like a walk in the park. Highly recommended.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I concentrate more on basics and preparing the student to build on it on his/her own. I also believe in a lot of practice and practical classes. What and how I teach will more depend on what the student wants and how the student is comfortable learning. I prefer students who have an urge and enthusiasm to learn over those who don't. Liking the subject is not a necessity because I am hoping to make it likable for you.

I have taught computer science subjects to both undergraduate and graduate level students. I studied discrete math during both my undergraduate as well as my graduate studies in computer science and did well in the subject.
I have experience/ skill/ degree and certifications to be able to teach computer science. My specialization has been Artificial intelligence, though I would love to get down to the basics. I believe basics and making the most complicated subjects look simple by giving a lot of illustrations. People who I have taught computer science from scratch, just to give examples, are-
1. My parents, who had to be taught from switching on a PC, then to emails and searching for information, downloading/ uploading, chatting, maintaining their files, preparing documents, organizing financial information to playing games :)
2. A few language scholars in India, who had very little exposure using computers. I taught them programming so that they can build their own software!
3. Little kids in the country side who had not handled a computer before
For advanced skills, I have given undergraduate classes on Artificial intelligence, Object Oriented programming, C++, Java, UML and Computer Architecture. I have also helped my friends at school learn concepts of most computer science related subjects.
I am a native speaker of Hindi and have formal high school level education in Hindi. I grew up in northern India, where the main language spoken was Hindi. Hindi is one of the languages we speak at home as well.
I have a double masters degree in computer science and have been in the field since 1997. I am currently pursuing a PhD in computer science. Logic was an integral part of my curriculum in both my graduate studies. My area of specialization during my masters was a research on different schools of logic and how they affect computer science.
