I am a highly trained teaching professional. I have earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education as well as a Master of Science in Education with a Specialty in Reading. I am certified by the state of California, as well as New York, to teach preschool through grade 6 and Language Arts and Reading to all ages. I am continually updating my education to learn new techniques and new research in my field.
Through the years, I have worked with children (ages: infants through high school) in various capacities: teaching in the classroom, teaching small groups reading in a remedial setting, substitute teaching (K-6), and private tutoring. I relate well to children and teenagers, and they to me. I am able to form a comfortable relationship with my students which enable them to learn well.
I am skilled at evaluating a student's strengths and weaknesses which is essential for helping the student progress and reach his/her potential. I have a positive, gentle, nonthreatening teaching style to which students respond well. The parents of my students find me to be a highly competent, effective teacher.
In addition to teaching, my second interest is music. I have been singing my entire life and have always been in choirs wherever I have lived. I am presently singing with the Saddleback Community Chorus and enjoy every minute of it.
