"Professional, Kind, Enthusiastic, Knowledgeable"
Anne from San Francisco, CA on 11/25/12
After several lessons, we have found Richard to be the consummate professional – always communicative, organized and punctual. He is respectful and kind to both parent and student and has developed good rapport with our child. He is teaching classic grammar, vocabulary and writing technique to our 8th grader and doing a wonderful job of explaining topics and giving concrete examples.

Richard is helping our son on his English. We find Richard to be very knowledgeable, patient, and he understands the student very quickly and teaches according to the needs. Our son looks forward to the tutoring sessions and that is a sign he is enjoying the sessions. Thank you, Richard.

Richard has the unique combination of being a true intellectual, while possessing a warm and caring personality that works well with children. His love of history, languages, and learning is infectious and our daughter has thrived under his tutelage. We feel very lucky to have found Richard!

Richard is an excellent tutor and his support has been invaluable! I received an "A" in every class he tutored me in, which is excellent, as these are graduate level classes. He is very reliable and always willing to support.
"Great tutor, enthusiastic, patient and very well educated!"
Tom from Redwood City, CA on 3/20/14
Mr. Richard (as we call him) is a fantastic tutor. He has an ingrained knowledge of everything of-importance to help my 5th grader with his homework. He can easily move from math, to English, to social studies and back again. He's extremely flexible and friendly, and is always on time. Mr. Richard was an awesome find for us, and I highly recommend him.
"Very knowledgeable "
Shikha from San Mateo, CA on 3/6/14
Richard is extremely knowledgeable in the subject of AP European History. He doesn't need a textbook to discuss a topic! He has really been of great help so far. We will continue to have him work with our daughter as long as we can afford it!
Catherine from Redwood City, CA on 1/9/14
Richard has been amazing about scheduling appointments around our busy schedule. He is always on time and comes with a patient, positive attitude and a sense of humor. He's given my daughter many test-taking tips and helped her study for the ISEE test. He knows how to explain math concepts thoroughly, and has great advice about how to write a memorable essay. We are so grateful for Richard's help!
"A+ Excellent Tutor"

I can't sing enough praises for Richard. He was the perfect match for my son as he prepared for the HSPT exam. He helped him prepare and taught him techniques that he would not have discovered on his own. Richard not only conveyed great information, but also related to my son on a level that was easy for him to understand. He even thanked us for hiring Richard... miracles do happen! Thank you, Richard.

Richard is a great tutor who helped me get through AP European History. He's very helpful when it comes to analyzing different aspects of history in ways that I wouldn't think to.
"Great for foreign students"
Igor from Menlo Park, CA on 4/15/13
I was a visiting student researcher at Stanford and wanted to improve my writing and speaking skills for academic purposes. Richard is just the best for that! He is very knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic, not to mention that he's also a great listener and speaker! I found out many interesting things not only about English language, but also about the U.S. history, politics and everyday life. Highly recommend him for all foreign students!
"Knowledgeable and Inspiring"
Lucia from Menlo Park, CA on 3/29/13
Richard conveys great enthusiasm about the topics
he teaches, whether it is Norse mythology, German
grammar, or history. He has passed on a love of
knowledge and an ear for language to my son, who
is in 7th grade. Richard also displays a true
historian's sense of a particular time period--
he is able to invoke curiosity about what it was
like to live in that time period, and how things
were both similar to and different from the present.
Megan from Burlingame, CA on 3/10/13
Richard has tutored my high school senior in AP Government. Richard is always punctual. His knowledge base of the subject matter is very in depth and professorial. Richard is like having a college professor visit your home. He is above all kind and concerned about the student. I would highly recommend him anytime.
Liz from Burlingame, CA on 3/9/13
We are very fortunate to have found Richard. My son is applying for a scholarship and needed help for SAT study and essay writing. Richard worked patiently and diligently with him to prep for the SATs. He made it fun and interesting, especially when helping increase my son’s vocabulary. My son ended up improving his score by over 100 points! When it comes to help with essays, Richard is really good about letting my son take the lead and do the actual writing but he helps him if he is stuck and gives great suggestions along the way. My son really enjoys working with Richard and I highly recommend him.
