I have worked with all kinds of different learners. I was most often called as a substitute for special needs children. My own daughter and grandson were both diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. I am great at setting up systems for students to learn. Good discipline and consistency are very helpful.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have over 15 years in the classroom serving various ages. I also have many years of home tutoring experience for high school students.

I come from a bi-lingual background and understand the needs of people when learning English. I make learning appropriate to my students' needs.

I studied Hebrew until the age of 14. I continue to use my Hebrew reading and pronouncing skills on a regular basis as I practice my faith. I had my Bat Mitzvah at 12 and was Vice-President of the junior congregation. I am also planning a trip to Israel in the near future.

I have taught Honors General Science in Mission San Jose High School, one of the top campuses in the Fremont Unified School District. I have tutored for a number of Charter Schools, including Everest High School and Phoenix Academy. I teach test prep skills based on the positive results of my test taking successes.

For many years I was a substitute teacher and assisted students of all ages, preschool through adult in all subjects. I have a language specialist certificate and am trained in ESL. My training at Charles Armstrong supplemented my phonics training to assist special learners as well.

Public Speaking

I have been working in front of the public most of my life. I have taught many different subjects to children and adults, trained adults in various work skills and presented product lines with two different direct sales companies. I am a former member of a Toastmasters speaking club and feel confident discussing subjects that I have knowledge in.

Special Needs

After over 15 years in the classroom I have worked with special students mainstreamed in the classroom as well as substituted numerous hours in special ed. classrooms. Some of those students still relate to me today as adults. I have tutored non-reading 12 and 13 year olds. I have attended training sessions at Charles Armstrong School for special needs learning and adapt with all my students to find their best way of learning, be it visual, auditory, etc.

Study Skills

I have over 15 years of experience in the classroom and numerous years running an after school program for at risk students and athletes. I have taught study skills to ages 5-18 years old. Many of my students have had special needs, such as trouble concentrating or organizational skills and trouble focusing. I have worked with students in public school and charter schools, including Everest High School in Redwood City and Phoenix Academy of East Palo Alto.

My major was in Biology and Teaching. I tutor in Algebra as well. I have been trained in medical terminology and worked as a Patient Representative at San Francisco General Hospital. With this varied background I make a great candidate to prepare someone for the TEAS testing.
