Hello! I am a certified K-12 Spanish teacher with more than 9 years of experience working with students and I have been a professional tutor for the last 5 years. I have been studying Spanish for 14 years, and I studied abroad in Spain and in Ecuador for a semester each.

I have worked with several families by helping the students with homework and test preparation. If the students didn't have enough work to fill the hour, I supplemented with Spanish materials. I am somewhat of a homework coach. I am more than happy to provide original materials, but I always start with what the student has to do for homework or what he or she is learning in class and I build off of that. I generally work with my students weekly in order to keep up with current materials and be able to prepare for any upcoming tests or quizzes.

While I assist many of my students with classes they are taking at school, I also tutor conversational Spanish. I have experience working with adults who simply want to learn some Spanish in order to speak while traveling, conducting business, or to use at home. They are not taking a class, but through consistent lessons are able to become proficient in conversation.

I am a cheerful and energetic person. I like to have variety in the materials that I work with. For my students learning Spanish, I incorporate music, cartoons, books, art projects, cooking, and any other fun ideas that can be educational. I really enjoy working with students and I try my best to make sure that they understand and have fun!

In addition to my teaching credentials, I have been professionally trained for ACT test preparation. I have tutored over 100 hours with students for test prep (including ACT, SAT, and PSAT). I apply methods and strategies that have been proven to increase student's scores.

While I have worked with many students who are enrolled in public and private schools, I also I have assisted home school students with a variety of subjects, including teaching 4th grade math in Spanish. I am available during the morning and afternoon to work with students on their home-school curriculum.

References are available upon request.

I can ONLY schedule weekly meetings for the following time(s):
Fridays 5:15pm

I have some students that I notify if I have a cancellation the day of the lesson. Please contact me for week to week availability or to be placed on my cancellation stand-by list.

Availability is subject to location. Typically I meet with my students in their homes if they are within my 5 mile driving radius of my home in Menlo Park. If they are not within that distance, we find a mutually convenient location to meet at. I am sometimes able to partner with schools and meet with students during a free period in the middle of the day. I work closely with teachers when possible as part of the team effort to help students be successful in each class.

Daytime hours (9am-2pm) available for home school students and adult learners. My schedule will change throughout the semester due to working with ACT/SAT prep students. Please note I do NOT schedule weekend tutoring.
