Hi, I'm Felicia, and I look forward to meeting you! I really enjoy interacting with high school and middle school students both one-on-one and in a classroom setting, which is what led me to earn my CA and NY teaching credential and Masters degree in secondary math education. I have tutored math and test prep since 2003 and have been teaching math in both middle and high school for six years, helping hundreds of students improve their grades, test scores, and also enjoy the process of learning math. I've also achieved perfect math scores of 800 in SAT, PSAT, and SAT II, 780 in SAT verbal, and I earned the National Merit Scholarship award. With my knowledge of math and experience teaching teenagers, I wish to make math easy to learn, and hopefully fun too!

During the schoolyear I specialize in tutoring middle school and high school math for success in school, but during the summer I am also available for SAT/PSAT test prep. I will work with the students to decide on the appropriate workload.

Cancellation policy: In order to minimize disruptions for everyone, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy that applies to both my clients and myself. However, I do allow students to schedule makeup classes.

Group rates: I offer discounted rates for tutoring in groups of 2 or 3 (no more than 3). Ask a friend to join you and it saves you both money!

I'm excited to work with you and help you achieve your goals in math. Hope to hear from you soon!

####
Geometry

I have taught Geometry both in the classroom and during one-on-one tutoring in my 10+ years of teaching/tutoring. I am a credentialed math teacher, and I have a degree in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley and a Masters degree in secondary math education. Geometry is fundamentally very different from Algebra 1 or 2 because it requires a spatial understanding, and I am excited to help students build a solid foundation in this process.

SAT Math

I have taught/tutored SAT prep and secondary math for 10+ years as a credentialed math teacher. I have a degree in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley and a Masters degree in secondary math education. SAT Math is a combination of Algebra, Geometry, Algebra ll and Trig problems. Many say they are tricky but what they are doing is making students think as well as simply remember some procedures. The best way to get a high score is to practice, practice, practice, because then you start to think...
