Concepts, Concepts, and Concepts !!! Concepts are really important aspect of mathematics. Once you have clear understanding of a concept, you can solve any problem in mathematics. Everyone has different way of learning a concept, I would help my students in understanding the concept through their way of thinking process in 1:1 sitting so that it will inculcate the interest and passion in mathematics. Champions breeding the champions.
We practice through mastery, repeat problems to grasp the concept. My students use pencil and paper to solve the problems. I encourage my students to follow the concept step by step manner so that we can work on procedures, understand all facets of problem solving and work on areas which requires a building block. I have engineering background that I recognize that it is critical to break down problems and concepts into steps, the size of which depends directly on the needs of the student.
I got my BS from on of the premier IITs in India. I worked as TA and RA there, while attending classes. I tutored maths to my classmates as well as middle school, high school students outside campus. It was lots of fun working with students, as it is still today. During my many years of work experience in the industry as an engineer, I apply various concepts of mathematical problem solving and statistical data analysis to draw conclusions or “data driven decisions”.
I can teaching pre-algebra, middle and high school Algebra I/II, Geometry, Calculus, Trigonometry. I strongly believe that everyone can be successful at math, and my motto is to give my students the concepts and confidence they need to achieve success in future endeavors.
