Thanks for taking the time to review my profile.
I'm a full-time scientist (Ph.D., Materials Science and B.S. physics) and a part-time adjunct faculty professor at SJSU with more than fifteen years' experience. Tutoring paid for my undergraduate work and it's something I've continued to do as I enjoy connecting to students 1:1. Working full-time and teaching part-time means my schedule is limited, but I welcome students (of all ages) interested in math tutoring (algebra through calculus) and physics tutoring.
My tutoring style is best described as "flexible" - it is modified to the need of every student. Some students need help with basic study skills. Others may have some gaps in their background for a given subject and we can go back and build a strong foundation. Others may only lack confidence and we can increase that by working through many problems together. As a working scientist I like to bring my own experience - where I use math and physics in my daily work - to demonstrate to the student that yes, this is useful.
