In elementary school, I received a perfect score on the Iowa test, the only one in the country to do so. I started reading at age two. By kindergarten I had memorized all the muscle groups in the body and by elementary school was reading college-level textbooks in science, biology, and biochemistry. My undergrad degree is from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Spanish, Business and Music. My Master's degree is from the University of Chicago in Psychoneuromusicology, a field of science I invented. I wrote a book on the study of the nervous system and stage fright and am currently pursuing a PhD from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology which I expect to complete in 2013. My book on stage fright and the nervous system, Stage Fright in Music Performance and Its Relationship to the Unconscious, is being used as a textbook at major universities and I have taught at the UCLA Geffen Medical School's East-West Division. I am also an accomplished professional musician, having played with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at their summer home, the Ravinia Festival.
I have been teaching and tutoring students in all subjects, from Spanish, Science, Math and Music since I was in high school, when as a high schooler, I tutored my first student. At the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I worked in Admissions as part of my work, reviewed applications and made decisions to admit students to school and made decisions on transfer credits. I have been a Graduate Advisor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and did academic advising at the University of Illinois at Chicago, as part of my position of Adjunct Faculty there. I currently am Adjunct Faculty at Santa Monica College.
I have been thoroughly background checked by the Culver City and Santa Monica Unified School Districts and by the Santa Monica Community College District and cleared to work with students as part of my teaching there. Teaching is my passion and I can help you do your absolute best and remove all the obstacles in your way! I am also an expert on test anxiety issues and any kind of performance anxiety issues in any field.
