Hi! I have tutored students over the past 10 years, helping them improve grades, speak Spanish, pass entrance exams, prepare for and get into college, prepare for the LSAT and get into law school, and study for the bar exam.
I double majored in Spanish and International Relations at Gonzaga University, where I graduated magna cum laude and also played on the tennis team. I scored in the top 1% on the LSAT and then attended a top 10 law school, the University of Michigan, where I graduated in the top 20 percent of my class. I have always had an understanding of how to learn and retain information, and prepare for and perform during difficult exams.
I have loved tutoring since I was about 12 years old and started tutoring my little brother, a stubborn learner with ADD. I tutored him in everything from Math to Reading and Writing and Spanish, and found it to be such a rewarding experience. In college, I tutored students at a local elementary school in both English and Spanish. After college, I was certified to teach English as a Foreign Language, and subsequently spent time teaching English in Spain, Argentina, and Nicaragua. While not doing legal consulting work and working to start a business, I still enjoy tutoring individuals of all ages in all subjects.
My approach to tutoring is as follows: 1) Keep It Simple; and 2) Apply, Apply, Apply. I work hard to boil complex concepts down their clearest and most straightforward forms to ensure that the student fully grasps and retains them. Then I have the student apply these concepts through exercises to ensure that he or she not only knows the concept, but actually understands how it works. I love using my knowledge and background to help others learn, and I look forward to hearing from you!
