Xaire! Salve! Buon giorno a tutti!
I graduated summa cum laude with a BA from Georgetown University in Washington DC in Classical Languages, where I also studied Italian to a level of fluent proficiency. I am currently a graduate student finishing up my first year in UCLA's Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin Literature) PhD program. I have experience tutoring high-school level Latin, but am also very comfortable tutoring Ancient Greek and Italian. Whether you need help with the basics of language, or are looking for help at the reading or speaking level, I'm the tutor for you!
My tutoring style differs based on my tutoring student's needs, their areas of strength and weakness, but I always bring a positive, encouraging attitude, even when correction is necessary. I like to start by assessing my student's current level in a language and discussing with them what they are looking to get out of our meetings before creating a specific plan for helping us achieve those goals. In one case, I helped an AP Latin student prepare for his final test by going back to the basics and doing an intensive grammar review, which he needed to really help him read more proficiently, without wasting time checking forms.
When tutoring Italian, my approach would be largely speaking-based, demonstrating key grammatical lessons through conversations so that the student can organically learn the rules. However, I am comfortable teaching Italian in a much more traditional way as well.
I don't have a car, so I would appreciate tutoring clients that can be flexible and meet me somewhere of my choosing, so I can get there via public transit.

Great Tutor! — Anastasia was a great tutor overall for the UCLA Latin Summer Intensive Program. Not only was she very patient, but she created extra homework sets and problems to help solidify the concepts. She also emailed answer sheets out, which was extremely helpful. She made time to meet when it was easiest for me, and made difficult concepts easier to understand. I highly recommend Anastasia as a Latin tut ...
