I was educated in Scotland and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Italy.
I was involved in counseling, education and social work for a number of years in Scotland before teaching English as a Foreign Language in France, in a private College (Ecole Superieure d'Informatique, Montreuil), and in the University of Raspail, Paris).
I have taught in Elementary School in Scotland, and High School in Hawaii, where I was employed by the State of Hawaii Department of Education, as well as the University of Hawaii-Hilo to provide counseling and education to minority and at-risk adolescents. I also counseled adults there including many whose primary language was other than English.
I have always established a good relationship with minority adolescents and adults, and my teaching style is informal but structured: I begin the relationship with the student at the point they are currently at in their understanding and competence, building towards increasing their knowledge and comprehension. My international education and experience has helped me to be very open to individuals from other cultures and background. My English language skills are excellent.
