Learning is magic, knowledge is power.
I believe that information is beautiful; that life is better when it's understood, that knowledge liberates and empowers all those who touch it.

A copy editor by trade, I aim to bring clarity and grace to the written world around us. I have a mammoth vocabulary, I can explain everything that's ever called itself grammar, I proofread and edit like it's going out of style. I have been mentoring writers and perfecting work of all levels for close to a decade - it's high time I started coaching the next generation. I also have a deep understanding of life sciences: botany, physiology, anatomy and their ilk - well-studied vestiges of a degree I'd put on hold.

Most of my chosen subjects are less than fascinating on the surface, but they, too, are full of light and magic underneath. Which is why I teach them in pieces! Each piece tethers to and clarifies something my students already know. This makes it easy to absorb and organize the information they receive in the classroom, and saves them from having to memorize everything by rote.

Learning is a sacred quest and I hope to be of help.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Writing

I have been working as an editor to authors, scholars, and students for nearly a decade. I test in the 99th percentile for vocabulary and 98th for reading comprehension. I have had great success in passing my skills on to native and non-native speakers alike.
