I am a very well educated person and a delightful teacher with tons of experience. My students said they always learned from me because I explain things in terms they could readily understand. I always treat my students as I would like to be treated. I think if all the books I've read in my life were piled together, they would fill several rooms, floor to ceiling. I have a good sense of humor. While I was a student a Luther Seminary, I developed a taste for reading history
and have been a student of history every since. I review books for the Neworld Review specializing in books on history and religion
. I know how to write good clear English
prose, how to proofread and edit. I am a very skilled artist, a painter who specialized in acrylics
and water colors. My style is figurative.
My teaching method is as follows: to thoroughly understand the subject matter at hand to be taught and then to explain it is the clearest manner possible. I often created my own teaching materials, like Dr. Jones Bare Bones of Good English Grammar
and a formatting guide for word processors. My verbal and written communication skills are quite strong.
During my career as a teacher I taught in many schools, so here will be just mentioning the highlights. For five years I worked as a Children's Centers teacher for the San Francisco Unified School District. For three years I taught art
courses at Eastern Montana College. During my 22 years living in New York City, for eight years I worked for the Equal Opportunity Centers sponsored by the State of New York teaching office communications, English, word processing and keyboarding. For five years I worked for ASA College of Excellence teaching keyboarding, word processing, and medical transcription.
