Hello!

My name is Rebecca and I am very excited to be a tutor! I have many years of experience as an ESL Teacher, two years as a Spanish Teacher and many years living on and off in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. ESL and Spanish are my passion. It is always gratifying to help students learn English or Spanish and succeed in their academic or career goals. I have the experience and training gained in teaching in the United States and Mexico to improve students' knowledge in all areas of speaking, writing, reading and listening. I taught ESL at the New America School (high school) for about six years, at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and at Interlingua Language Institute in Guadalajara. I majored in Spanish in college and it is an important part of my daily life - my husband is from Mexico so we speak Spanish at home and have raised our children bilingually. My method is focused on a communicative method - learning the grammar concept and immediately practicing it verbally in every day contextual conversation. I also focus on writing, structure and grammar, as well as reading comprehension, literary discussion and listening skills. The most important thing is I strive to meet the needs of students. Whatever it is they need to focus on is what I will help them with and beyond to become fluent and comfortable with the language. I look forward to working with and enhancing your skills in ESL and Spanish!
