I love the English language. I always have. Reading, figuring out what is common and uncommon about grammar and spelling are fun to me. I enjoy conjugating verbs and studying literature.

As a published writer, editor and tutor of ESL, my English-teaching and spelling are at the top of the game. I have been published in the Los Angeles Times and magazines.

My work experience does not relate to my English skills as I worked for many years in sound for feature film. At times, though, I edited scripts and was a reader of scripts. I also translated scripts into spoken English from slang.

Now, semi-retired, I am a teacher of ESL to Chinese adults, children who just need a little assistance and others. I enjoy the work very much and often give students and understanding of where a word comes from and the appropriate way to use it. I teach all level of students and ages.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Hebrew

I lived in Israel a long time and am fluent. If the class is in Hebrew conversation, then I'm your person. If it is written Hebrew (which I know but am not qualified to teach) then I am not.
If it is a combination of beginning conversational Hebrew and learning the alphabet and learning to sound out words (one can read any word they they already know), I can definitely help.
