Greetings and Salutations!

My name is Diane and I am an educator. I hold triple degrees: MFA (from the Actors Studio, NYC), BA, and AA. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I am from NYC, live in LA. I have been in over 50 plays on the NYC/LA Stages. I have been teaching English/Theatre for 14 years. I have taught every grade, including at the college level. I have been an Adjunct Professor at 3 colleges, teaching English Composition, Creative Writing, Communications, Speech/Debate, and Theatre. I have been teaching the 7-12th at a private Christian School in North Hills for the past 5 years, and love it. I've just finished assisting my school in getting WASC accreditation. It's a blessing. I teach all humanities courses, specializing in English Literature, ESL, Speech and Theatre. I have also taught SAT Prep, and have tutored my students for years. I have directed 4 full stage productions and have produced local theatre. I have taught in South Central, Beverly Hills and the Valley. I have been honored to have a multicultural teaching experience and upbringing in NYC. I bring loads of positive energy, passion, and joy into my classroom every day!

I have also taught at two summer programs, one at UCLA called "Summer Institute for the Gifted", the other was through John's Hopkins University.

I would love to be your tutor!

Teaching English Literature for 13 years has helped me guide students towards mastery. My specialty is literary analysis, focusing on symbolism, motif, and theme. Exploring character, plot, setting, biblical references, allegory, parabole, allusion, decoding the author's true meaning and message in a story is all a joy!

Proofreading

Teaching English for 13 years has helped me guide students towards mastery. Part of the curriculum for the 7-12th grade in English, is editing and proofreading.
