Greetings, I have been tutoring math at all levels for years since my Undergraduate graduation. I graduated with a degree in Film after majoring in Computer Programming and Education. I am a visual thinker so I have a way of explaining math and clarifying concepts not just expediently, but so that the student remembers them firmly in time for tests and major exams. I have worked with students of all abilities, of all ages, and am known for my patience and persistence in providing my learners with ownership over their roadblocks in mathematics. Some individuals have been dyslexic (every now and then, without realizing it), some have had confidence issues, testing anxiety, some had mental obstacles that historically kept them from their optimal motivation in math -yet being able to turn them around and see A's as the final result always keeps me returning to this line of work.

It is not uncommon to fall behind in a class or just need to brush up on a few sections that tend to cause you errors. The cascade effect of small failures that just seem to keep compiling can be overwhelming. When we get behind, the call of duty can be daunting and insurmountable. My job is to intercept the problem points, and identify first where you are strong, then work from that outward, building a framework that is well-mapped and accordingly give you an understanding of how to work within your means, and how to excel beyond them. Countless families over the years have expressed satisfaction with my methods, my humor, patience, and professionalism with handling their world of quantitative skill building. Many of the foundational problems in math derive from a disjoint between the visual 'storytelling' of concepts and the developed mathematical vocabulary an individual has to speak with in order to apply that visual. My work aims to build your vocabulary from the simplest to most complex levels, and reduce the ambiguities your instructor isn't explaining the right way, ensuring that your path to success on tests is similar to drawing an intricate, logical, coherent picture from bottom to top. You'll be surprised how sharp you'll be! With this in mind, looking forward to working with you and all challenges ahead!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

I have been tutoring Algebra 2 for years now, and can get you drilled on all the basics, essential formulas, etc., as well as the more complicated subject matter that tends to be on major tests.
