Hi! Are you looking for an extremely experienced, passionate, knowledgeable, and entertaining tutor to help you reach your academic goals? Then look no further! I have over 10 years of English teaching/tutoring experience, both here in Southern California and in South Korea. I hold a California Teaching Credential in English and, for the past six years, have been teaching English/ESL courses to high school students of varying academic levels. Prior to this, I lived in Seoul and tutored Koreans from ages 5-65 in English grammar, speaking, composition, literature, and fluency.

Grammar. Sentence construction. Recognizing and correcting dangling modifiers. Dreadful, boring and painfully tedious English fundamentals for some; for me, an opportunity to use creative, fun approaches to tailor lessons and meetings to each individual student's strengths. What young person actually WANTS to spend his or her summer studying the nuances of persuasive analytical writing? This teacher can empathize, and still dreams of those lazy idle summer vacations of her not so distant --really; I could swear it was like yesterday!--youth. So it is with this in mind that I focus my lesson preparations and overall tutoring environment on how learning can be fun.

I am patient and I am able to connect with each student and help them learn the best way they possibly can; I can turn the dreadful and mundane into the exciting and accessible-- or as exciting as a dangling modifier can be. I have a few true passions--sunbathing; traveling; really trashy young adult novels--but what really gives me the greatest joy is to help my students not just reach their basic academic goals, but to share in my passion and enjoyment in learning that will remain with them for life.

I look forward to hearing from you!
