Film

Cora H. is an independent filmmaker from Dana Point, California. While completing her Bachelor’s degree in Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara, she produced three award-winning short films, two of which screened at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. She was awarded 1st place for Best College Screenplay in the 2010 Santa Barbara International Film Festival 10-10-10 Student Screenwriting Competition, received the 2011 Dorothy and Sherrill C. Corwin Award for Best Short Film, and won Paramount Picture’s Paranormal Activity 3 Film Competition in 2011. She also co-produced and co-directed a short environmental documentary through UCSB’s Blue Horizons program and worked as a research assistant for a hurricane forecasting documentary for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. After graduating, she worked at Dick Clark Productions and Stacey Testro International, a talent and literary management agency.

Video Production

Cora has produced promotional videos for Network Media and SurfMyAds.com, and served as the Marketing Coordinator for Green Living Project where she developed and promoted a sustainable video production competition for students.

While completing her Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara, she produced an environmental video documentary about the shipwrecks off of Point Conception and how they serve as artificial reefs. She also worked as a research assistant for a hurricane forecasting video documentary for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

In addition, she has worked in Development with Dick Clark Productions and analyzed scripts and wrote coverage for Stacey Testro International, a literary and talent management company.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
