After earning an an honors degree in English from Harvard, Michael Robin spent a year tutoring the SAT and ACT at Wilson Prep in New York. He then joined Teach for America, the organization which places top college graduates as teachers in failing urban schools. He earned his teaching credential in 2009, and taught 11th grade English and Creative Writing for two years at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Connecticut. The same year, he began serving as an alumni admissions interviewer for Harvard College.
Since 2011, he has worked as a tutor and admissions coach in Los Angeles for students of all grade levels. Michael's students have gained admission into the top high schools in Los Angeles, including Harvard-Westlake, Brentwood, Loyola, New Roads, and Crossroads, and some of the top universities in America, including Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Washington University, and Vanderbilt. His academic students have seen their GPAs increase as much as two full letter grades.
Michael works to build trust and comfort with each of his students in order to guide them to achieve at their highest potential. He has helped hundreds of students hone their test-taking skills and improve their study habits, organization and time-management.
