I recently graduated from the University of Vermont, where I received a bachelor's degree in global studies and a minor in Spanish. I also hold a certificate of excellence through the International TEFL Academy & INTESOL Worldwide, which certifies me to teach English as a Second Language. My most recent experience has come from tutoring international students, most of whom are studying through UCLA's extension program. I believe that my experience in studying Spanish as a second language has truly helped me to empathize with my own English students. Patience and hard work have taught me that I can genuinely make a positive difference in my student'a academic career and potential career advancement.
Although I am bilingual in both English and Spanish, I have helped and am accepting of students from all different cultural backgrounds and ages! Most of my work has been centered around helping students master their speaking skills in English, which is best taught through casual conversation with a native speaker, such as myself. In terms of tutoring ESL, I am open to help students with anything from grammar and writing to improving their skills in casual conversation.
I am a very reliable tutor, who strives to put the convenience and goals of my students as my number one priority. For the above reasons, I like to base my own schedule around what times and meeting places are most convenient at that time for the student. Although I live in West Hollywood, I have my own means of transportation and am willing to make house calls and/ or travel to a location closer to you.
Feel free to contact me if I seem like a good match. I look forward to helping you reach your future language goals, whether it be for academic, business or personal advancement!
