I've spent my lifetime in the arts. I was also a ballroom dancer. I won the Harvest Championship Ball in 1980 and supported myself through college teaching ballroom dancing. After college, I worked in Graphic Design before starting my own business creating functional objects for the home and selling them to boutiques across the country. I've had experience making and selling art for decades. After I left my business, I joined a Art Helping Animals and painted and sold animal portraits online with a portion of the proceeds going to a variety of animal rescues. I also show my abstracts in galleries. Whether you want to paint realistically, abstract, or like the impressionists, I can help you to learn how to.
The mediums I teach are oil, acrylic, pencil, colored pencil, pastel, and mixed media. We will have fun while learning to paint and draw! I can also teach you to scan or photograph your artwork and manipulate your files in Photoshop before uploading your art to websites, blogs, Facebook, or whatever site your using. We can create logos in Illustrator or add your art to files in Indesign. One of my goals in teaching is to ensure the student is enjoying learning about art and the process to create beautiful artworks. You will start to look at the world differently when you begin to translate the world in terms of colors and shapes and how your heart and mind interprets them uniquely.
Dancing is also fun! There is no better way to enjoy exercise. I danced in Madison Square Garden and on many stages in the East Coast. I taught people who never took a step before and before you knew it, we'd be dancing around the dance floor. If your passion is art or dancing, I can help you. I can also help you with computers as I was also a Graphic Designer. Need to learn how to create a logo, art for print or websites, or brand yourself for marketing? I can help you learn that as well.
While I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I do offer makeup classes. I look forward to hearing from you and wish you success and joy in your studies.
