My passions are twofold: mathematics and helping others understand math and to realize their potential. Therefore, it's no question tutoring math is what I love doing! For over a year I've been a volunteer tutor for students in transitional housing developments. In doing so I've tutored Algebra 1 and Geometry. In addition, I was a tutor for the Mathematics Department at UCLA for the past two quarters for the course Calculus of Several Variables (Calculus 3) under the title Peer Learning Facilitator. My in-home tutoring experience includes working as a tutor with an after-school program, tutoring Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Trigonometry.
The subjects I specialize in are Algebra 2 (my favorite class in high-school!), Trigonometry (the unit circle!), Pre-Calculus (harder than calculus!), and Calculus (just awesome!). My goal is to help you succeed in mathematics, whether success is to get a better grade, or to obtain a firm understanding of the subject at hand. I prepare challenging yet approachable questions of the material regardless of whether or not you have particular questions. But, of course, we will always address your questions first. My tutoring approach consists of doing problems that will help you succeed in the way you'd like to succeed, no more, no less.
I was recently accepted to the PhD Program in mathematics at UC Santa Cruz. I provide a free consultation hour. Also, if you feel you are unsatisfied with the tutoring session in any way at any time, please let me know and you will not be charged.
I look forward to hearing from you! And good luck to you with your future endeavors, mathematical or otherwise!
