Thank you very much for your interest in me as a tutor. As a lifelong learner with a distinct passion for teaching and a great interest in helping students succeed, I believe that I will be an effective tutor for you or your child.
I recently moved to Los Angeles from my hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Southern California. I finished my undergraduate education this past May at the University of Michigan, where I graduated with degrees in music (clarinet performance) and Honors German Studies. During my undergraduate years, I also took an interest in mathematics and chose to enroll in calculus and physics-based cosmology courses at the college level. This past April, I was also awarded a Fulbright Grant to teach English in Germany. Education has always been my greatest passion, and it is my goal to teach professionally.
As a tutor, I have over six years of experience working with students of virtually all ages, from elementary school to the university level. For the past two years I worked individually with ten students from 6th grade to 12th grade on a weekly basis. The majority of my tutoring experience has been in mathematics (elementary school math through college calculus) and test preparation (ACT, SAT, etc.); however, I have also tutored students in English, German, and music. I am highly invested in the success of my students and am eager to help each student meet his or her individual goals.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I am also very happy to provide references upon request. Thanks again for your interest, and I hope to hear from you!
