Hello Scholars and Families! I am a teacher with Multiple Subject Credentials, and I can help with tutoring in any elementary subject. I strongly believe that all kids can learn at high levels when they are given the individualized attention that they need to be successful, and the full classroom setting doesn't always work for everybody. I have taught everything from Kindergarten phonics to 6th grade English, Math, and Social Studies, and I would love to give your scholars the differentiated instruction that they need to shine! I graduated in 2010 from Cal State Long Beach with a Summa Cum Laude degree in Liberal Studies through the Integrated Teacher Education Program, and I also received a Certificate in Peace Studies. I also recently completed my Master's program in Social and Cultural Analysis of Education with a 4.0.
As a teacher, I use tutoring to constantly drive my scholars to perform at higher levels, and I love working individually with students! I will meet you where you are and help to push you as high as you want to go, and sometimes even higher than you thought you could get to! I have always loved school and I want that love of learning to be infectious to those that I work with because education is the key to every other thing you could possibly want to accomplish in life. I particularly love teaching Reading and Math because they are such a critical part of everything that we do each day.
Tutoring can be really fun because there is always an opportunity to grow. I want to make sure that I learn enough about those who I work with to give them access to what they need to be successful. The whole child approach helps with that because getting to know a student's personality and interests will assist greatly with getting them excited about the subject that we are learning about. The motivation piece comes in with setting goals (both immediate and long term) and tying everything that we are working on to those goals. You can do anything that you want, as long as you've got the determination and grit to make it happen.
Learning should be exciting, and I hope that I can have the opportunity to spark that joy for your scholars.
Thank you, and hope to learn with you soon!
