My name is Aaron, I am a professional tutor here in the city. I work both independently and at a professional tutoring company where in addition to tutoring, my responsibilities include curriculum development and training other tutors. I enjoy tutoring Physics and many different areas in Math, including Geometry, Algebra 1 and 2, Precalculus, Trigonometry and Calculus. I tutor both academics and test prep; I've undergone training in SAT Math and ACT Math and Science. I'm well versed in test taking strategies as well as the nuances of each of these tests. I have a Master's Degree in Physics from The University of Texas, and throughout graduate school I taught introductory level Physics courses and Physics lab courses. I received outstanding student reviews for my courses and I was even approached by students asking which sections I taught so that they could enroll in mine specifically. In addition, I've been tutoring since I was an undergraduate. As an undergraduate I majored in Physics, Math, and Philosophy. I am also a big sports fan. I played soccer in college, and I love watching basketball and many other sports as well.
Every tutor has something that they believe makes them unique. (It is false if a tutor claims he or she has a unique ability to effectively communicate information - this, in fact, is merely prerequisite to being a good tutor.) What makes or breaks the quality of a tutoring experience is the level of individual attention a given student receives. In that regard, what I think makes me unique as a tutor is the degree to which I prepare for each one of my students. As with sports, preparation off the court is paramount to success on the court. I put in a lot of time outside of sessions so that I can be more effective during sessions. This could mean anything from putting together extra practice materials to simply reviewing content on my own in order to anticipate difficulties my students might have in the future.
If you have any questions for me, please feel free to reach out at any time. We can discuss your individual needs and expectations and decide on the best approach from there. I look forward to hearing from you!
