From a young age, doing well in school was of the utmost importance to me. I graduated as Valedictorian of my high school class, where I took challenging courses such as AP Spanish, AP Calculus, AP World History, and many honors classes. As I played soccer and had theater rehearsals up to four hours per day, I had to develop extremely efficient study habits. I know how much pressure there is to get good grades, whether it be at an elementary, middle, or high school level, and my goal is to provide guidance and support to students at any stage in their scholastic career.
I continued my studies at USC, where I graduated with honors in 2011. Although my degree is from the Annenberg school of Communication, I was able to study a wide breadth of subjects during my time there. Throughout all four years I was in The SoCal VoCals (the top a cappella group in the nation) as well as a sorority, so I again had to budget my time meticulously in order to get everything done. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and then took a job teaching voice lessons under the direction of Valerie Morehouse, who is now the head vocal coach for the hit TV show Nashville.
After working exclusively as an actress and singer for the past two years with roles in such films as 'Pitch Perfect' and '42' (which will be released this April), I am looking to get back to my roots and tutor students in not only voice and acting, but also subjects such as math, English, history and spanish. I'd like to focus on making study habits efficient so that students can spend more time on extracurricular activities, and I'd also like to make studying as fun as possible. Learning should come with a sense of excitement and accomplishment, and I wish to impart that on every student I teach.
