I love teaching. My entire career has been in education. Even as an administrator, I viewed my role as a teacher of my students and employees. I have helped hundreds of students with college/grad school admissions, interviews, personal statements, and more.
Education has been a life long pursuit. I was a National Merit Scholar and salutatorian of my high school class. I went to Pepperdine University and earned a BA in Religion. My coursework covered theology, New Testament, Old Testament, Greek, and lots of other great topics in a liberal arts education. I then completed MA coursework in Communication (coursework completed, but no degree) at The University of Oklahoma and Pepperdine University. My studies included Rhetoric, Interpersonal Communication, Cross Cultural Communication, Organizational Communication, and Crisis Communication.
I am available to help you in multiple subjects. I do teach Bible studies, as my degree is a BA in Religion. I've also been a part time/volunteer youth minister or teacher for twenty years. I also enjoy helping people with their writing. I have been a writer for business for the last fifteen years, and have coached many professionals and students in writing personal essays for college and grad school admissions, as well as medical residency. Beyond writing, I am also able to help you with public speaking. I've been a public speaker since age 9...really. I ran the speech lab at Pepperdine for a year, helping students improve their public speaking. In my recent career, I've coached interviewing skills and presentation skills for students and employees. Next, a lot of my career in education has been helping ESL/immigrant students and professionals. I've taught English classes and tutored individuals on speaking and writing.
Finally, if you have questions about college admissions, I have worked in the admissions office at Pepperdine and coached hundreds of students in this area at Kaplan Test Prep.
