Biology

Biology has been my passion for the last 11 years, and this has led me to take classes from across the whole spectrum of biology from molecular biology to physiology to ecology. This passion also led me to acquire a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, which was an amazing experience.
Biology is a complex subject full of details, and it can seem impossible to learn everything. I've found that a solid foundation in understanding broad concepts is key to learning the details. Once these broad concepts are mastered, the details fit into the framework provided by the concepts, and are easier to remember.
I find tutoring for biology to be immensely rewarding, and look forward to the opportunity to share my passion with you.

Chemistry

Chemistry can be a challenging subject, but it is also a beautiful and fascinating subject. I unexpectedly found it so enjoyable that I switched from a chemistry minor to a second major in chemistry while in college at the University of New Mexico.
I performed very well in my chemistry courses, and earned a GPA of 4.00 in these classes. Furthermore, I was the recipient of the Mike S. Millican Memorial Prize while a junior, and the Dean E. Uhl Merit Scholarship while a senior, from the UNM Chemistry department. Both awards are given on the basis of academic merit.
In addition to my academic qualifications, I very much enjoy teaching chemistry. I look forward to helping you through this interesting and challenging subject.

Genetics

I have a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences and have taken several college and graduate level genetics courses and done very well at them. Here are my grades from these courses:

Pharmacology

My Ph.D. work was in the field of vascular physiology, a field in which a solid proficiency in pharmacological concepts and techniques is essential. Furthermore, I took a graduate level molecular and cellular pharmacology course while in graduate school and earned a grade of A+.
