I am good with kids and I like math. Need I say more?
My name is Toby (the girl version) and I graduated from Syracuse University (magna cum laude) with a BFA in Acting and a minor in English. And I know what you are thinking... A BFA? But a degree like that takes a lot of dedication, hard work and most importantly passion. I have a lot of passion; and, incidentally a lot of child care experience because I love working with kids. I have been a babysitter, a nanny, a camp counselor, and, of course, a tutor.
Because of my experience, I know how to work with children and make it fun. Does your child only care about the Avengers, Star Wars and action heroes? Well I happen to know a lot about all those things and can use that to make tutoring fun, interactive and informative.
I also have experience tutoring older kids and am really skilled at giving practice questions and deciphering complicated teacher's notes.
Plus I am a writer so I love helping with grammar, spelling, punctuation etc. Its amazing what kids can do with a little grammar policing.
Actually its amazing what kids can do, period.
That's why they like superheroes so much, because they want to be one.
