Hello students and or parents,
My experience in teaching started in 1996 when I started teaching school in the Netherlands. I studied how to teach at a high school level. Between 2001 and 2012 I worked as a caregiver/teacher/group leader of young people with a mental limitation. I taught language skills, life skills and social skills to pre-schoolers with autism in the South Bay area, and since a few weeks ago, I have been teaching middle school children Dutch in North Hollywood. My strong points as a teacher are my calm and patient demeanor, my great communicative skills and a good sense of humor.
I received a bachelor in European History in 2002 and my masters in History of International Relations in 2006.
The University of Utrecht might not be very well known in the US, it is, however, one of Europe's finest Universities (7th in Europe and 14th in the world ranking of Universities in 2008). I wrote my master thesis while working at the Dutch Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, on the political role of the Turkish military in relation to Turkish aspirations to enter the European Union. I have traveled extensively. I've visited most countries in Europe extensively and I lived, worked and traveled the Middle East, Australia, East Africa and Central America.
Cheers,
Bas B.
