My approach to tutoring is to teach my students from the ground up.
I like to make my lessons fun and engaging with the ultimate goal of instilling in my students a genuine appreciation for the material and an understanding that, with the right amount of hard work, they can succeed in any academic endeavor.
I have an outgoing personality and sense of humor that allow children to feel comfortable around me. With my academic pedigree, tested work ethic, and interpersonal skills, I truly believe that tutoring serves as the perfect opportunity to combine all of these qualities and positively influence a student's life.
My background:
After finishing first in my high school class with all As, scoring in the 99th percentile on the SAT, and graduating from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with an Ivy League degree, I had developed a self-discipline and work ethic that had me prepared for anything. I spent the last year working at an investment bank in New York, where I would regularly work fifteen hour days and received extremely favorable performance reviews.
While in college, I mentored inner-city middle school students weekly through choreographing a hip-hop dance performance as part of a program called CityStep. Serving as a role model for the students, I would often provide them with guidance that extended beyond the dance floor, advice that they could apply to their schoolwork and broader life goals. Additionally, I spent time tutoring piano at a local middle school, another valuable growth experience.
