Having been a student, I realize how expensive tutoring lessons are and that sometimes they don't bring good results. I want to make sure that my students are satisfied with the lessons, so I will do my best to help them improve. I was a tutor during most of my undergraduate experience at UCSD and I am here to help the student long-term, so that he/she can continue having great results long after we finish our lessons. I specialize in English: reading comprehension/writing, and in high school and college-level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Organic Chemistry. After receiving great scores, I also teach test prep for MCAT and the SAT.

Biology

After finishing 4 years in Biology at UCSD and being a teacher's assistant in general biology, I am very well trained and can also provide a letter of recommendation from my science professor.

English

In high school, after taking Honors English, I took AP English and AP Literature and received a 4 and a 5 on the exams. I have also taken Literature and Writing classes at UCSD and have entered and won prizes for writing. I am extremely good at working on papers with students, including proofreading and structuring the essays. I have written many research papers and can help students with planning and writing.

Elementary Math

I have volunteered at a children's hospital in eastern Europe for many years and have practiced with them Math and English. I can understand the frustration some students have with an overwhelming amount of homework, and I work with them to organize and to develop great studying techniques.

MCAT

After taking the MCAT exam, my strong area is the Verbal section which is usually the hardest for most students. I have a technique that really works and got me a great score. I also teach how to tackle the Physics and Biology sections. After teaching the technique, I will go through examples with the student and give the student extra practice to do at home. We will be working on the technique until the student improves their score.
