¡Hola!
If you're looking for a tutor to help support your academic progress, or are just looking to brush up on your Spanish skills, look no more.
I have been teaching Spanish at the high school level for the past 6 years. I have experience teaching Spanish 1 and 2 for non-native speakers, as well as Spanish for Native-Speakers 1 and 2, and AP Spanish. Last year I had an 88% passing rate on the AP Spanish exam!
Spanish is my first language. In addition, I received my undergraduate degree in Anthropology with a certificate in Ethnomusicology, teacher credential in Spanish and a Master of Art in Teaching from the University of California, Irvine. I also studied US-Mexico relations for a semester at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in México City.
I have 3 years of experience teaching Son Jarocho music to both adults and children. If you'd like to expand your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation through music, we can do that through Son Jarocho. Son Jarocho is traditional music from the southern part of Veracrúz, México and, aside from improving your grammar, expanding your vocabulary and practicing your fluency, there is a lot of cultural knowledge that can be gained through Son Jarocho. Upon request, I can turn your Spanish lesson into a music lesson as well.
My lessons can be intensive and rigorous to help you meet very demanding personal and academic expectations. But, my lessons can also be creative and fun if you're looking for a more relaxed experience.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in any way possible.
¡Nos vemos!
