At the start of high school, I took Spanish classes simply because it was "necessary to get into a California college," but as I slowly was exposed to the material I started to fall in love with the language. So much so, that I continued with my Spanish studies all the way up to my senior year in the AP Spanish Language class. One time that Spanish truly came alive for me was in my sophomore year of high school when my theatre department performed "Don Quixote" written by Miguel de Cervantes, a famous playwright from Spain. During my junior and senior year in Spanish III Honors and then AP Spanish Language, I began incorporating the language in my everyday life - listening to Spanish radio stations, periodically watching Spanish television, and even driving my family nuts by persistently communicating to them in it; they only speak English. My love for Spanish continues to grow and I still use it all the time. I hope that I can share my appreciation for this beautiful language with you while helping you to understand it at the same time.
