I graduated with a BA in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting in 2006. I am currently enrolled in the UCLA extension program working towards a certificate in Public Relations with an emphasis in Entertainment Media. I also have a full-time job as an office manager and PR coordinator for a production company in Burbank, CA.
I stopped watching television a couple of years ago because I feel like today's TV programming has no quality control and I can see how it has affected the way the younger generation thinks and acts nowadays. I really enjoy reading and writing, so living without a television has given me much more free time to indulge in both of these habits.
I've tutored a high school student in his AP English class throughout his junior and senior years and helped him with his college entrance essays. Although it was a tough task, the way he writes now has improved significantly. Like my former student, a lot of people have a hard time articulating their thoughts onto paper so I really enjoy teaching the step-by-step method of the writing process. The way I like to teach always begins with the simple sentence structure, then leads to the format of a well-bodied paper, followed by the outline of a rough draft and finally concluding with the written piece as a whole.
Proofreading is probably one of my favorite things to do, so it makes tutoring much more fun. I just want to help people transfer their brilliant ideas and reasoning onto paper, as writing has always come easy to me.
